Pixar:

Inside Out – June 19, 2015

Plot: Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Riley and everyone else are guided by their emotions, Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The personified emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters, when Sadness accidentally causes herself and Joy to get lost within the rest of Riley’s Mind. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the remaining emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school, while Joy and Sadness trek through the rest of Riley’s Mind (including “Imagination Land” and “Dream Productions”), the latter slowly discovering the bright side of life.

My thoughts: This is a movie with lots of well know actors in is it. If Amy Poehler being in it was not enough to make me want to watch it (which it is) the fact it is a Pixar movie sold it, we all know it is going to be good because Pixar never disappoints to make amazing movies! I will definitely be watching this movie in theaters.

Finding Dory – June 17, 2016

Plot: this movie will be focused on the amnesiac character Dory, and will explore the idea of her being reunited with her family. The film will take place one year after the events of Finding Nemo and will be set off the coast of California.

My thoughts: I am so excited for this movie and have been since they announced it, Finding Nemo is my favorite Pixar movie and Dory is one of the funniest Disney characters. I think this will be a great movie and I love the plot. I will definitely watch this in theaters!

Toy Story 4 –June 16, 2017

Plot: unknown at this time, but this will be a love story.

My thoughts: I thought Toy Story 3 was a great movie and a great way to end the story but I am all for a new movie like I said Pixar does not mess up!

Cars 3 –TBA

Plot: unknown at this time, but Route 66 and Route 99 will be included

My thoughts: the first two where grate movies I am sure this will be no exception, have I mentioned that Pixar can do no wrong …..

The Incredibles 2 – TBA

Plot: unknown at this time but director Brad Bird stated in 2007 “I have pieces that I think are good, but I don’t have them all together.” and in 2013 stated “I have been thinking about it. People think that I have not been, but I have. Because I love those characters and love that world.” He continues, “I am stroking my chin and scratching my head. I have many, many elements that I think would work really well in another Incredibles film, and if I can get ‘em to click all together, I would probably wanna do that.”

My thoughts: FINALLY! This was an amazing movie I am so excited for this sequel it is going to be amazing. My dad and I seriously almost peed ourselves laughing the first time we watched this movie. Theaters? I think yes!

Computer Animated:

The Good Dinosaur – November 25, 2015

Plot: The Good Dinosaur asks the generations-old question: What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? The film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively 70-foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event rattles Arlo’s tranquil community, he sets out on a quest to restore peace, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – —a young human boy named Spot.

My thoughts: I like the plot it and with John Lithgow and Neil Patrick Harris in its cast I am sure this will be a very funny movie. I will most likely watch this in theaters.

Zootopia – March 4, 2016

Plot: The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Composed of habitat neighborhoods such as ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together — a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery.

My thoughts: again an interesting concept it sounds like it will be a great audition to the Disney line up. I will definitely watch this one.

Moana – November 23, 2016

Plot: This movie is set in Polynesia. It is described as a mythic adventure set around 2000 years ago and across a series of islands in the South Pacific. The main character is to be Moana Waialiki, a teenage sea-voyaging enthusiast and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her family needs her help, she sets off on an epic journey to find a fabled island. During her journey, she teams up with her hero, demigod Maui, and encounters enormous sea creatures, underworlds, demigods and spirits taken from Polynesian mythology.

My thoughts: sounds like a good movie I can only imagine how amazing the scenery is going to be (I am picturing lots of colour) and it will be a musical! Yay, many people in the Disney fandom have predicted she will be the next Disney princess. Definitely watching this movie, probably in theaters.

Giants – March 9, 2018

Plot: Loosely bases on the Jack and the Beanstalk

My thoughts: I am unsure about my feelings for this movie.

Frozen 2 – TBA

Plot: unknown at this time rumor has it Elsa gets a love interest.

My thoughts: I already made a post about this movie; I love the characters and look forward to the sequel I am sure it will be a great movie as Disney has a long history of making grate sequels. I will definitely be watching this in theaters in fact I have already made plans to see it with my niece who loves Frozen.

King of the Elves – TBA

Plot: This film is about a band of elves and one dwarf living in the modern-day Mississippi Delta who names a local human, Calder, their king after he helps save them from an evil troll.

My thoughts: sounds like a good movie, I will probably watch it.

Marvel:

Avengers: Age of Ultron – May 1, 2015

Plot: this is the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, along with support from Nick Fury and Maria Hill are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

My thoughts: the cast is perfect in this movie, loved the first Avengers movie. Definitely a watch in the comforts of home movie.

Ant-Man – July 17, 2015

Plot: Thief Scott Lang must aid his mentor Dr. Hank Pym in safeguarding the mystery of the Ant-Man technology – which allows its user to decrease in size but increase in strength – from various new threats, and plot a heist that will save the Earth.

My thoughts: Paul Rudd is awesome, Marvel is awesome. Definitely will watch this one.

Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016

Plot: Following the events of the Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

My thoughts:  I like to look at Chris Evans and enjoy the Marvel universe. I will happily watch this on my couch.

Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016

Plot: After his career is destroyed, a brilliant but arrogant surgeon gets a new lease on life when a sorcerer takes him under his wing and trains him to defend the world against evil.

Star Wars:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – December 18, 2015

Plot: The movie is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features three new leads alongside characters returning from previous Star Wars films.

My thoughts: So this is Disney’s first of many Star Wars movies to come although I have never been a big Star Wars fan I am excited to see the movie and will have to re-watch all the other Star Wars movies in anticipation. I also love that almost the entire cast has come back for the reboot. I am sure I will be ‘dragged’ to the theaters to watch this movie.

Star Wars Episode VII –May 26, 2017

Plot: unknown at this time

My thoughts: see above

Live Action:

Tomaorrowland – May 22, 2015

Plot: Frank (George Clooney) and Casey (Britt Robertson) travel to a place somewhere in time and space only known as Tomorrowland where their actions directly affect the world and themselves. It is a Sci-Fi movie that was originally thought to be based on the futuristic themed land found in the parks but I don’t think that continues to be true.

My thoughts: it has some well-known names in its cast Gorge Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Tim McGraw and Kathryn Hahn being amongst them. I was very excited when I heard about the movie but to be honest the trailer did not get me that exited I will still go watch it (probably at home) but I have very mixed feelings about the movie.

The Finest Hours – January 29, 2016

Plot: American disaster drama film about a true story of the Pendleton rescue mission attempt by Coast Guard ships. A storm hit and split asunder two oil tankers in 1952. The rescue mission takes place in 1952 off the Cape Cod coast after two oil tankers, SS Fort Mercer and SS Pendleton were destroyed by treacherous winter winds and waves. A motor life boat’s crew are heroically involved in rescuing nearly all the tankers’ crewmen.

My thoughts: seems like an interesting movie I will probably watch but not in theaters.

The BFG – July 1, 2016

Plot: Tells the story of Sophie (Ruby Barnhill), the Queen of England (Penelope Wilton) and The Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance) who set out on an adventure to capture the evil, man-eating giants who have been invading the human world.

My thoughts: I don’t know how I feel about this movie; I am certainly not jumping out of my seat….

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – July 7, 2017

Plot: Captain Jack Sparrow is pursued by an old enemy, Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), who along with his crew of ghost pirates has escaped from the Bermuda Triangle and is determined to kill every pirate at sea. Jack seeks the mythical Trident of Poseidon, which will bestow upon its possessor total control over the seas, to use against Salazar.

My thoughts: I loved Pirates of the Caribbean, I always loved pirates as a kid and love love love the movies, characters everything about the movies, but I do think that the last movie was missing something although I Love Jack Sparrow I miss Elizabeth and Will. That being said I am still stoked for the movie I have seen every Pirates of the Caribbean movie in theaters and I don’t plan to miss this one.

Tribyville – TBA

Plot: unknown at this time

My thoughts: I don’t really have enough information to have thoughts about this movie.

Live Action Remakes:

The Jungle Book – April 15, 2016

Plot:  This is the live action version of 1967 Disney movie of the same name.

My thoughts: Classic Disney movie with grate music Richard M. Sherman who did the music for the original Disney movie will also be working on the music for this one. And the cast looks grate Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken are the stand out cast members but this movie looks amazing definitely a watch in theaters movie!

Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass –May 27, 2016

Plot: The sequel to the live action 2010 Disney movie Alice in Wonderland.

My thoughts: I loved the 2010 movie so I am definitely looking forward to this movie especially with the cast from the 2010 movie returning but I am sad that it is not being directed by Tim Burton but he is a producer and I am guessing will be very involved with the movie.  I most likely will see this movie in theaters.

Pete’s Dragon – August 12, 2016

Plot: This is a re-make of the 1977 Disney movie of the same name.

My thoughts: I always found this movie kind of creepy so I am indifferent toward this movie.

Beauty and the Beast– March 17, 2017

Plot: Live action re-make of the 1991 Disney movie of the same name.

My thoughts: OHH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have read my last post you all know how exited I am about this movie. *update* Stanley Tucci has been cast as Cadenza a new character that is a piano and Ewan McGregor will be Lumiere. Not only will I see this in theaters but I will Disney bound and totally fan girl!!!!!! This movie will be amazing! (Can you tell I am exited?)

Mulan –TBA

Plot: This is a live action re-make of the 1998 Disney movie of the same name.

My thoughts: I want to know more about casting but I am definitely exited for this movie it is one of my favorite movies and Disney always does a great job with casting and I am sure this will be no exception, definitely a see in theaters movie.

Winnie the Pooh –TBA

Plot: This is a live action re-make of the movie of the same name. (there are several movies and I am unsure what story line they will use)

My thoughts: Winnie the Pooh was my favorite movie(s) as a kid I liked him more than the princesses, so as much as I am unsure about the live action aspect of this I am very much so looking forward to this movie. Winnie the Pooh will always have place in my heart and because of this I will probably watch this movie in theaters.

Pinocchio –TBA

Plot: This is a live action re-make of the 1940 Disney movie of the same name.

My thoughts: So excited for this movie, the song ‘when you wish upon a star’ is one of my favorite songs and I am hoping they will have it in the movie. I look forward to seeing there casting for this movie, seeing this in theaters is definitely a possibility.

The Haunted Mansion –TBA

Plot: This is a re-make of the 2003 movie of the same name.

My thoughts: I really enjoyed the 2003 movie but look forward to seeing a darker version of it. Theaters? …maybe.

Oz the Great and Powerful 2 –TBA

Plot: Oz and Glinda have their first born child named Olivia. They don’t tell Olivia that an evil spell has been cast on her by someone she never knew.

My thoughts: I was really disappointed in the first movie and I am really surprised that they are doing a sequel. It was not a bad movie but I had high hopes because of the great cast they had/have as a big fan of the original movie it just did not do it for me. I might go see this if it looks good.

Cruella – TBA

Plot: will be similar to Disney’s Maleficent the back story of the villain.

My thoughts: she is a grate villain and I loved the movie Maleficent so I think it will be great. I really enjoyed the live action version of 101 Dalmatians but I think this will be better. Glenn Close who did an amazing job as Cruella in said movie will be an executive producer in this film. I will definitely see this in theaters, on a side note I don’t know how they are planning to make it understandable to want to kill puppies but I am interested to see them try.

Notes:

  • There are some untitled Pixar, Star Wars and Animation movies that I have left out
  • Plot is based off what is written in the Wikipedia/IMDB page(s) and may change
  • I am not perfect and I may have forgotten some movies
  • Disney unfortunately no longer makes 2D movies if you are wondering why that is not a category
  • This list only includes movie that will be in theaters so Disney Chanel movies are not included
  • I will possibly re-post with updates if requested

Laughter is timeless, Imagination has no age, and Dreams are forever

Live action Beauty and the Beast!!!!!

***Warning lots of exclamation points ahead***

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I have already mentioned that they are making a live action Beauty and the Beast but I have not really gone into detail about how ridiculously excited I am and how amazing the movie looks, and the reason for this is I was waiting till the right moment….now is that moment!

So for those of you have not heard here is the scoop, the absolutely amazing Emma Watson will be portraying Belle! Can we talk about how perfect she is, I have been saying for years that if they were to do a new Beauty and the Beast she would be so perfect for the part and a few years ago there was talk about Guillermo del Toro directing a version of Beauty and the Beast and he has said if he did it he would not anyone but Emma to play Belle (he will not be directing this movie, but is directing the live action Pinocchio) Emma is such a grate actress and I can’t express how happy I am that she is playing her. But what I think is going to make this movie so grate is that Belle is not the only perfectly cast character they all are! Dan Stevens will be playing Beast, I have not seen him in any previous roles but have you seen his eyes they are so blue and dreamy! Luke Evans will be such a good Gaston, Josh Gad who we all know as Olaf from Frozen will be LeFou Gaston’s trusty sidekick. Kevin Kline will portray Maurice, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Audra McDonald as The Wardrobe and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts!!!!! Although they have not fully cast this movie they have done an absolutely amazing job thus far and I don’t see this movie not being amazing did I mention that Alan Menken who wrote the score for the original 1991 film (and may other Disney movies) will be doing the score, this man has written almost every Disney hit because he is amazing!

I am so so so so so excited for this movie I actually don’t think I have ever been this excited about a movie ever and have I been more exited with every announcement they make just look at this photo:

batb

Pure Magic! March 2017 cannot come fast enough!!!

So are you as excited as I am about this movie? Also let me know if you want to hear about some of the other Disney movies coming out soon.

It’ll turn our alright in the end. You’ll see.

A New Lion King TV Show!!

Oh My Goodness I feel so out of the loop apparently Disney announced this in June of 2014… seriously why I am only hearing about this now!

So here is the scoop the show is called ‘The Lion Guard’ it will have a one hour movie premiere in November of 2015 and the TV series will air on Disney Junior in January of 2016. The show will focus on Kion (the second child of Simba and Nala) as he forms a group of animals to protect the Pride Lands known as the Lion Guard; it is described as “The Lion King meets The Avengers”. We will see many familiar faces including Simba, Nala, Kiara, Rafiki, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa and Mufasa (in spirit form). We will also meet lots of new characters including Bunga a honey badger, Fuli a cheetah, Beshte a hippo and Ono an Egret. Along with the new TV show they will also be releasing at least 5 new books.

For those who are aware of The Lion King: Six New Adventures (a collection of 6 books published in 1994 by Grolier Enterprises, Inc. with the permission of Disney) you will know who Kopa is, it does not appear he will be in the books or the series although it is stated that Kion is based off Kopa and it should be noted that he is not recognized as an official child of Simba and Nala or as an official Disney character however Kiara and Kion are. This is probably due to the fact that if Kopa was recognized as an official character he would be older than Kiara (as the books take place in between the two movies and Kiara is not in the books) and this would make him the next in line to take over The Pride Lands not Kiara, Kion is also the younger brother of Kiara. Kovu is another character that does not appear to be in the book/TV show he is like Kiara an official Disney character however if this takes place before Kiara and Kovu reconnect as adults it would make sense that he would not be in the new show, but I hope he will be.

Although I have not watched any of the new Disney Junior TV shows I will definitely be watching this one!

Hakuna Matata!

Cinderella (2015)/Frozen Fever Review

***Warning major Spoilers***

A few weeks ago I saw the new Cinderella movie with my Mom here are my thoughts:

Let’s start with the Frozen short ‘Frozen Fever’ the short is all about Elsa trying to plan the perfect surprise party for Anna’s Birthday with the help of some familiar faces Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf. The day starts off with Elsa taking Anna on “Party Treasure Hunt” that takes them all over the kingdom with gifts and treats setup all over. Unfortunately Elsa has caught a cold and she progressively gets worse over the cores of the day every time she sneezes a small group of Snowgies pop up giving Kristoff, Sven and Olaf some trouble at the party. Elsa still not listening to Anna’s please to go to bed almost falls off the tower and is finally convinced to go to bed where Anna is happy to spend the rest of her birthday taking care of her sick sister.

Let me start by saying how much I love the Snowgies they are so cute and I will definitely be buying the plush. Although they went to go live with Marshmallow at Elsa’s ice castle I hope they will be in Frozen 2  Olaf loved his new Little Brothers and Sisters?….I think they are all boys, anyway I was happy to see the gang back together. Over all it was cute and I really enjoyed the short, the song “Making Today a Perfect Day” was so cute and really showed how much Elsa loves Anna and how bad she feels about the separation the two have had and we got to hear Oaken sing! This short definitely got me exited for Frozen 2.

Now for our fetcher presentation…….. Cinderella!

We all now the classic story of the kind hearted and sweet Cinderella whose mother dies when she is very young and her father marries a cruel woman with two awful children and unexpectedly dies himself. Cinderella is then treated like a maid cooking, cleaning and doing everything around the house all well her step mother and two step sisters are cruel and make fun of her, despite all this Cinderella continues to be kind and see the world the way it could be. One day a ball is announced inviting all the eligible maidens in the kingdom to the castle so the prince can find a bride. The night of the ball Cinderella having finished all her cores hopes to go to the ball in her mother’s dress that her mouse fiends helped her fix up. But the awful step family rip the dress apart and leave for the ball with Cinderella in tiers, her fairy god mother come to the rescue and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Cinderella and all her friends are magically transformed giving her everything she needs to go to the ball. Well at the ball Cinderella’s charm and general goodness win the prince’s hart but before she can tell him who she is the clock strikes midnight and all starts to returns to the way it was, but on her way out one of her slippers comes off with so little time left she leaves it on the stars. Once the last bell has chimed everything is back to normal except her glass slipper which she keeps as a reminder of the magical night. The prince having found the other slipper goes on a kingdom wide search for the girl he met at the ball asking every maiden to try on the slipper. He eventually finds Cinderella and they get married and live happily ever after.

The new take keeps to the story line with very few changes but does add in a few things. I am first going to talk about the cast; Cate Blanchett to no surprise was amazing in her role as Lady Tremaine I was so happy to hear that she had gotten cast because I knew she would be amazing in this part. I also can’t believe how much Hayley Atwell (Cinderella’s Mother) and Lily James (Ella) look like mother and daughter, speaking of Lily James wow! She was a great Cinderella she has such a warm and beautiful smile but besides her look she does an amazing job of the characters iconic kind heart, there were rumors that Emma Watson was going to play Cinderella but as much as I love Emma I don’t think she would have suited the part as much as Lily did, plus Emma is ridiculously perfect for Belle whom she will be portraying in the live action Beauty and the Beast (but that is a story for a different day). Now we can’t have a Cinderella story without a Fairy Godmother and I will be there first to say I love Helena Bonham Carter but I was a bit shocked when I found out she was cast in this role, but she did a really good job playing the Fairy Godmother and was very entertaining as always. Richard Madden did a great job as the extremely iconic character Prince Charming (or Kit in this case) and he is obviously very attractive… that smile… those eyes…. Swoon. The whole cast was very well done these are just the stand out casting choices for me.

I also want to talk about the changes they made, I am going to start by saying I loved most of the changes they made but there is one that bugged me a lot I don’t know why it bugs me as much as it does I guess it just seemed like an unnecessary change, they made many changes to Cinderella’s animal friends her dog Bruno was not in the movie and even though she had multiple mouse friends only 2 of the mice kept their original name Jaq (who was made into a female mouse and changed to Jacqueline) and Gus, I don’t know why they had to make Jaq a girl there where 3 girl mice in the original movie, they also did not weir cloths, I get the not talking part but I feel like she still could of made clothes for them, I know it is an odd thing to be annoyed about, anyway do to the change in not having Bruno in the movie they added in 2 lizards which to me did not make sense or fit in with the movie (in my opinion) I don’t know why these changes bug me so much but it really irritates me. However they also made some changes I really liked, such as the first time Cinderella and the Prince meet I really liked how they did it and that the reason why all eligible maidens where invited to the ball is because the prince wanted her to come. I also liked that she thought he worked at the castle and that the reason she wanted to go was to see her friend and did not care about meeting the prince.

The last thing I want to talk about is my favorite part in any move the wardrobe. I remember when I first saw Cinderella’s Ball gown for the remake in I really liked it except I did not like the butterflies and did not get why they were on it but after watching the movie and learning that they were there for a sentimental reason added into the movie I loved the dress even more, and the way the dress moves and all the layering uggg I can’t contain my love for Sandy Powells remake of the dress for this movie. I also liked the Princes out fit and thought that the Step family’s outfits where fabulously suited for the characters if you look on ‘Cinderella (2015)’ Wikipedia page where it talked about the costuming for the movie she talks about how she came to make the choices for the costumes, a very interesting read. I do have to say that my mom hated the wedding dress and to this day is still complaining about it, she hates everything about it I don’t love the dress but I certainly don’t hate it. I don’t understand why she hates it so much, I am guessing it is because Cinderella is her favorite princess and had high expectations especially after the ball gown and all the other wonderful costuming, I agree it was a bit of a let down but not enough to hate it.

Over all I loved the remake of Cinderella I thought it was extremely well done and I look forward to seeing the live action versions of more Disney movie like the Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan. I was thinking about doing a ‘Disney dream cast’ let me know if you are interested in seeing who I want to see portray other iconic Disney characters.  Also let me know what you thought about the movie.

And always remember a Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes!

Frozen 2!!

So Disney has announced an official sequel for Frozen, here are my thoughts:

So who here is shocked because certainly am not, firstly Frozen has made Disney some serious money over the past year and some odd months since its theatrical release, it has broken records not only for Disney but in the movie industry as a whole.  What other movie can you think of that has the amount of success that Frozen has had, because I can’t think of one. Can we also talk about how people seem to be more excited to see the Frozen short in the new Cinderella movie than the movie itself.  It is getting as much press if not more than the actual movie; I don’t remember doing them doing this with the Tangled short (but I will talk more about that later).

Continuing with the subject of money that Frozen has and will continue to make for Disney; not only did Frozen make tons of money in the box office ($1.3 billion worldwide) but it is the highest grossing film of all time and earned a total of 13 Awards, that is extremely impressive. but let’s put all that aside for a minute, to promote the film back in November of 2013 Disneyland and Epcot temporary placed meet and greats with Anna and Elsa little did they know that the world was about to go insane for these two sisters, in February of 2014 Disney had decided to extend them because of their tremendous popularity and in March of 2014 they wait to meet Anna and Elsa was over 6 hour long, not only did they need to be moved to a more permanent location but they had to change the way the meet and greats worked adding a fast pass system. I experienced this first hand when I was in Disneyland this past October, in my experience me and my mom went to the line as soon as we entered the park (with early entry) and waited for at least 2 hours to get the fast pass(that was redeemable at 6:00 that night) we could not get in the fast pass line until the exact time (which we did) we then waited about a 30-45 min to actually meet them from what I have heard that is a relatively fast experience and many people who do the same thing end up getting turned away because fast passes run out quick. But that is not the only thing Disney changed they almost immediately added Frozen character to Disney on ice and when it come to the parks they have planned some huge changes ; On July 5th 2014 Disney World began “Frozen Summer Fun” which was to run till September 1st  but was eventually extended to September 28th. On August 19th Downtown Disney replaced the store ‘Studio Disney 365’ with the ‘Anna & Elsa Boutique’. In September 2014 Disney World announced they will be replacing the ‘Maeltorm” ride with a Frozen ride in 2016. On December 5th 2014 over a year since the movie was in theaters and the phenomenon still going strong Disneyland announce their version of “Frozen Fun” well they prepare for there 60th Anniversary Celebration they are temporarily replacing 3 attractions and updating the ‘Storybook Land Canal Boats” to include Arendelle by replacing ‘The Old Mill’. On January 22nd 2015 Disney Cruise Line announced that they will be adding Frozen activities to select ‘Disney Wonder’ and ‘Disney Magic’ itineraries, a new Frozen stage show will be added to ‘Disney Dreams’ and all ships will now include a meet and great with Anna, Elsa and Olaf, they have not yet added many newer Disney characters such as Rapunzel, Tiana or any of the Fairy’s. On January 28th 2015 Disney announced a new night time parade called ‘Paint the Night’ which will include Frozen characters as a part of their 60th anniversary celebration. Aside from the changes in the parks and cruise line the Frozen Merchandise is the highest demand that Disney has ever experienced, many products selling out within an hour, over 500,000 Anna and Elsa dolls have be sold and all 5,000 limited-edition dolls sold within 45min of going on sale. Last Christmas my niece wanted the Anna and Elsa dolls (like every other little girl did) my sister-in-law’s sister ended up driving to Disneyland (from Vancouver Canada) to get in a 3 hour line to get the dolls because they had sold out online. When I was in Disneyland this past October almost every little girl was dressed as Anna or Elsa, I have been to Disneyland several times but I have never see so many people dressed as the same character normally there is a fairly equal amount of each princess if a new movie was recently realest there would be a few more of that character, but there was easily 10-20 Anna and Elsa’s for every other character you saw. And with the all the dozens of books and announcements of an Ice Show and a Broadway Musical in the works Disney has made Frozen much more than a Franchise it is a brand. There have been a lot of criticisms about the movie and its popularity since the day it came out and even before that. but the fact is Disney is business and as long as Frozen is still popular and making money they are going to continue to milk it for all it is worth, what smart business says ‘well this is still making tons of money for us but let’s stop or at least slow down’ nope, no one says that because that would be dumb.  Are they may be going a little overboard with Frozen ya, but so did the whole world!

Wow! That was a whole lot of information, and trust me I left a ton of stuff out but there a few more things I would like to address. Many people have spoken loud and clear how upset they are that Frozen is getting a sequel when there are plenty of other Disney movies that deserve a sequel just as much. One movie that I have heard many people point out in Tangled, I loved the movie Tangled but what I love even more is that when you go visit Rapunzel in the parks she is always accompanied by Flynn Rider/Eugen to my knowledge she is the only face-character to have her love interest with her almost all the time, there are special events around Valentine’s Day and Shows like Fantasmic where you see couples together and you can meet  Jack and Sally during Halloween, but regular everyday face characters this is not something you typically see. And I think it really shows the love these two have for each other and that they are more than just a couple. I think a big reason why they have not yet done a sequel is because it was the most the most expensive animated movie to ever be made and 4th most expensive movie of all time to be made and let’s face it the short ‘Tangled Ever After’ did not leave a ton of room for a sequel and I personally liked that Disney did something different by doing a short instead of a full film, but I would still love to see a sequel as would many other people. Another movie that has come up is Princess and the frog, I did not watch this movie until about a year after it was released I had heard a lot of not great things about it but after I watched I loved it, in fact it may be one of my favourite Disney movies, I loved all the characters and liked that Tiana was so hard working and determined a quality let’s face it most if not all Disney princesses lack. But unfortunately it did not do as well as many other Disney movies although it was number one in the box office its opening weekend it has minimal merchandise available and I feel tends to be forgotten about, she also unfortunately did not resonate with a lot of people making her one of the least Favorited prissinesses, but this like Tangled is a movie I would like to see more of. The last movie I am going to talk about is Big Hero 6 a lot have people have said and I tend to agree that Big Hero 6 is/was over shadowed by Frozen but despite this it has gained quite a fan base and did extremely well with tons of merchandise out and on the way, this is another movie that has become a favourite not only for me but many other people. Obviously this movie has not been out vary long but I am sure that with its popularity it will have a sequel in fact there they have already discussed the possibility of making one but nothing is confirmed. I also just wanted to punt out that just because they have not announced a sequel for these movies does not mean it is not going to happen at some point for example The Little Mermaid was released in 1989 but its sequel was released until 2000 and a prequel in 2008, so I am sure we will be seeing plenty from these movies and more it just is not happening right now.

For me personally I am surprised it took so long for them to announce a sequel to Frozen not because it got so popular so fast, but because of the effect it had on people both young and old, male and female my mom loves this movie just as much as my 5 year old niece and my nephew loves Anna and Olaf this movie really resonated with so many people I loved the movie, not as much as some people but never the less still loved it and was happy to see a character that shares a very similar personality to me(Anna). I am sure that Disney will continue to do projects with Frozen and I don’t see an end to the Frozen madness. So to all those people who are complaining about Frozen and the newly announced sequel I have one thing to say to you…..
